One of the most popular nautical destinations, Pakleni Islands (Hell’s Islands), offering plenty of sports and recreational activities!
Clear waters surrounding Hvar and Pakleni islands are extremely rich with amphorae and other ancient remains, inviting you to explore the sea bed. This divers’ paradise is also rich in flora and fauna. You can start your adventure from the town of Hvar, where you will find a diving centre including a diving school.
It doesn’t matter if you are not an experienced sailor – you can hire a skipper who will take you to spend a few hours at the hidden bays of Hvar and Pakleni islands, or on a one-day trip to Vis and the Blue Grotto on the island of Biševo. The variety of winds around Palmižana and Hvar coast offers ideal conditions to enjoy sailing and windsurfing.
In recent years, the island of Hvar has become a known destination for cycling enthusiasts. In addition to the island’s roads, there are 50 km long cycling paths on gravel roads, which gives you the opportunity to ride through a unique natural landscape. The most popular route is the one from Hvar across Milna to Grabje, returning through Brusje. Presently there are two mountain biking routes and one thematic route, while the local authorities are in the process of marking new ones.
Do you want an adrenaline rush? Hvar rocks are suitable for both amateurs and experienced climbers. There are climbing tours accompanied by an instructor, organised in attractive locations along the coast which offer breathtaking views. You can also find climbing courses for beginners, while more experienced climbers can rent equipment. These activities can also be done in winter, due to a large number of sunny days on the island of Hvar.
